[MSI] Save dialog as templateΒΆ

Save the existing dialog box with its controls and settings as the template in order to import it to any other later opened MSI package. The templated dialog box will be saved as the .dialogtemplate file on the file system.

Precondition: Open an MSI package in MSI Editor (see Open MSI/MST).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Installation dialogs tab.

  2. Select the Save dialog as template from the context menu of a dialog that you want to save as a template.
    The Sequence view displays tree of dialogs in order how they are invoked. One dialog may appear multiple times in different places.
    To simplify the searh of the required dialog, switch to the Flat list view that displays only unique dialogs in the alphabetical order.

  3. Choose the template file location, name and click Save.
