[MSIX] Export (extract) fileΒΆ

Export (extract) the selected file from the MSIX/APPX package to the specified folder.

This feature can be useful when you need to modify the file of the package. In order to replace the existing file in the package with the modified one, see [MSIX] Replace file.

Important

Precondition: Open the MSIX package in MSIX Editor (see Open MSIX/APPX).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Files and folders tab.

  2. Select Export file from the context menu of a file that you need to export (extract).

  3. Choose a destination location where to save the file and click Save.

  4. The selected destination folder with the exported file will be automatically opened in Windows Explorer.
