[MGP][MSIX/APPX settings] Package type (main/modification)

Set a type of the MSIX/APPX package. The selected settings will be applied during MSIX/APPX package building.

The modification package is used to customize settings of the app, installed by main package. At runtime the app will get a merge of resources from both main and modification packages. Important

Precondition: Open a project in MSI Generator (see Open MGP project).

  1. Go to the Package > MSIX tab.

  2. Click Edit dependencies.

  3. To change the default ‘main’ package type to ‘modification, select Modification package for and either enter main package identity or click Read from file to read it automatically. Afterwards, click Save.

Warning

The modification package could not declare capabilities and contain apps, therefore they will be automatically skipped.
