[MSI] Edit Service Control (Start, Stop, Delete)ΒΆ

Edit a service control entry to manage (Start, Stop, Delete) a Windows Service on the target system.

Important

Precondition: Open an MSI package in MSI Editor (see Open MSI/MST).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Services tab.

  2. Select Edit from the context menu of a Control Service entry that you need to edit.

  3. Modify the required settings such as Service name; operations to be performed on the service (Start, Stop, Delete) during an installation and uninstall; Arguments for starting the service (arguments are separated by null characters [~]. For example: Arg1[~]Arg2[~]Arg3); the referenced Component that triggers the selected actions on the service. Then, click Save.
