[MSI] Set INSTALLDIR

Set a folder of the MSI package as INSTALLDIR.

In fact, this only changes the folder identifier to INSTALLDIR. The INSTALLDIR folder identifier is a public property that typically represents the main installation location. Public properties can be changed via the command line. For more information, see Public Properties.

Important

Precondition: Open an MSI package in MSI Editor (see Open MSI/MST).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Files and folders tab.

  2. Select Set as INSTALLDIR from the context menu of the necessary folder.

    Warning

    System folders (displayed with the grey icon) can’t be set as INSTALLDIR.
