[MGP][MSI settings] Permissions (file system, registry)

Set/remove permissions of files, folders and registry of the MSI package in the MGP project. The selected settings will be applied during MSI package building.

Note

Permissions will be propagated using SecEdit.

Important

Precondition: Open a project in Package Generator (see Open MGP project).

1. To set/remove permissions for files and folders, go to the Files tab.

   

2. To set/remove permissions for registry, go to the Registry tab.

   

3. Select Edit from the context menu of a resource, permissions of which you need to edit.

   

4. Go to the Permissions tab.

   

5. To set new permissions:
   1. Tick the Enable permission changes checkbox click Add to add a group or SID, for which you want to set permissions.

      

   2. Select a group from the list or enter SID manually and then click Add.

      

   3. Select the necessary access rights and click Save.

      

6. To remove the existing permissions, untick the Enable permission changes checkbox and click Save.
