[MSI] Add Service Control (Start, Stop, Delete)ΒΆ

Add a service control entry to manage (Start, Stop, Delete) a Windows Service on the target system.

Important

Precondition: Open an MSI package in MSI Editor (see Open MSI/MST).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Services tab.

  2. Select Add > Control service from the toolbox.

  3. Specify a Service name, choose operations to be performed on the service (Start, Stop, Delete) during an installation and uninstall. If needed, enter Arguments for starting the service (arguments are separated by null characters [~]. For example: Arg1[~]Arg2[~]Arg3). Afterwards, select the referenced Component that triggers the selected actions on the service and click Save.
