[MSI] Add package auto-upgradeΒΆ

Add a new upgrade entry to the MSI package.

Important

Precondition: Open an MSI package in MSI Editor (see Open MSI/MST).

  1. Go to the Package Designer > Upgrades tab.

  2. Select Add > Upgrade from toolbox.

  3. Specify the Upgrade code of the package that you need to upgrade (a value of the UpgradeCode property), range of product versions to be upgraded (e.g. Version from = 0.0.0.1; Version to = 5.0.0.0.) and other required properties.

    Click the Include to SecureCustomProperties link, located below the Action property field to include the specified action property to the SecureCustomProperties MSI property (action property must be listed in the SecureCustomProperties).

    Afterwards, click Save.
